Global commodity trader leading grains and oilseeds in Paraguay

Asunción, Capital

About this business

Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) entered Paraguay in 2004 and established itself as one of the three leading soybean and derivatives exporters in the country, handling an annual volume of 1 million tons of grain. The company is a partner in CAIASA (Complejo Agroindustrial Angostura S.A.) alongside Bunge and COPAGRA, Paraguay's largest oilseed processing plant with an annual capacity of 1.5 million metric tons. Additionally, LDC operates MERCO (Mercantil Comercial S.A.), its own processing plant in Caaguazú with a capacity of over 180,000 metric tons of oilseeds per year, plus grain elevators in Curuguaty, Tuna, and Pozuelo. For river logistics, LDC relies on its subsidiary Lógico Paraguay, founded in 2007, which owns one of the most modern barge fleets in the country. LDC is part of the century-old Louis Dreyfus group, founded in 1851.
