About Taberna Española
Taberna Española is one of the most emblematic restaurants in Asunción's historic center. Founded in 1985 by Ángel Benítez and Miguel Durán, two passionate advocates of traditional Spanish gastronomy, it has been the gathering place for those seeking authentic Spanish flavors in Paraguay for four decades. The house specialty is Valencian paella, cooked with impeccable technique and considered by many the best in Asunción. The menu also includes a wide selection of tapas, Iberian ham, fresh seafood, charcoal-grilled chuleta and Spanish desserts like crema catalana. The wine cellar features carefully selected wines from Spain, Argentina and Chile. Each year it organizes a giant solidarity paella that feeds 800 people.
