About INTN – National Institute of Technology, Standardization and Metrology
The Instituto Nacional de Tecnología, Normalización y Metrología (INTN) is Paraguay's autonomous public body established by Law No. 862 on June 26, 1963, and reorganized by Law No. 2,575/05. Headquartered at Avenida Artigas 3973, Asunción, the INTN operates under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. Its main functions include the development, publication, and application of technical standards; legal and industrial metrology; testing and calibration laboratories; product certification; and technology transfer and research for industry. INTN represents Paraguay in international standardization bodies: ISO correspondent member, IEC affiliate member, and co-founding full member of the CMN (MERCOSUR Standardization Committee). In May 2026, it launched the SAMPY metrological assistance service.
