About this business

Lake Ypacaraí and the city of San Bernardino form Paraguay's most popular summer destination, just 50 km from Asunción. San Bernardino was founded on August 24, 1881 by German-Swiss settlers led by Jakob Schaerer and named after President Bernardino Caballero, explaining its European flair in a tropical setting. The lake covers approximately 56 km² with an average depth of 3 meters. During high season (December to February) the waterfront fills with visitors for kayaking, paddleboarding, boat rides and sunset watching. The Bella Vista viewpoint offers panoramic lake views. Artists and galleries also have a presence in the city. A perfect day trip from Asunción.
