About 3 de Mayo

3 de Mayo is a district of Caazapá Department whose name commemorates a date in the Paraguayan civic calendar. Like other districts of the department, its economy is sustained mainly by smallholder agriculture and small-scale cattle ranching. The district's landscape combines cultivated fields with areas of native vegetation, amid the gentle rolling hills that characterize the southern Región Oriental. Its rural community maintains the productive and cultural practices typical of the Paraguayan countryside.
