The Industrial Area groups the industrial zones in the north of the Ciudad del Este conurbation, mainly along the axis toward Hernandarias, where private industrial parks, logistics warehouses, and factories are concentrated. Hernandarias has a delimited industrial zone of about 3,000 hectares, with its own electrical substation receiving power directly from Itaipú—a decisive factor for energy-intensive industries—and employing more than 5,000 people, mostly young workers from Hernandarias and Alto Paraná.
