About Ciudad Vieja

Ciudad Vieja is the founding core of Asunción, located at the northwestern end of the capital, on the bay of the Paraguay River. It is part of the Historic Center of the city and one of the oldest urban sectors in South America, since Asunción is known as the "Mother of Cities" for being the area of longest continuous habitation in the Río de la Plata basin.
