About José Falcón

José Falcón is a district of the Presidente Hayes department situated in the southern Paraguayan Chaco. It bears the name of a figure from Paraguayan history and forms part of the extensive flat territory that characterises this Chaco department. The predominant activity is extensive cattle ranching on large estates. The sparse population is distributed across scattered rural settlements, a reflection of the typical conditions of the Chaco interior with its wide open spaces and low occupancy density.
