About Villarrica

Villarrica is the capital of the Guairá department and one of Paraguay's oldest urban centers, founded in the sixteenth century. Its historical fabric, cathedral, and educational institutions make it a cultural and intellectual reference for the eastern central region of the country. The city is recognized for its carnival traditions and its ties to regional agricultural production, including sugarcane and yerba mate.
