About Ybycuí

Ybycuí is home to Parque Nacional Ybycuí, one of the most important protected areas in Paraguay's Oriental Region. The park shelters an extensive humid subtropical forest with waterfalls, crystal-clear streams, and natural swimming holes that make it an ecotourism and recreation destination for visitors from across the country. Within the park stand the ruins of La Rosada, a historic iron foundry that operated during the War of the Triple Alliance in the nineteenth century, making Ybycuí a site of historical as well as natural interest. The combination of natural and cultural heritage sets this district apart as one of the most visited in the Paraguarí department.
