About Minga Guazú

Minga Guazú is a district in the department of Alto Paraná located in the vicinity of Ciudad del Este, the departmental capital. Its Guaraní name combines minga—communal labor—and guazú—large—reflecting both its cultural heritage and its relative size within the department. Proximity to Ciudad del Este gives the district a more urban and diversified character than many other Alto Paraná municipalities. Alongside agriculture, commerce and services have a significant presence, in line with the economic dynamism of the border zone with Brazil.
